DAILY ROSARY – Did you know the Rosary is prayed in the church Monday through Friday at 8:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Saturday at 8:45 a.m.? Come join us anytime.
WE DO NEED VOLUNTEERS to help maintain our facilities, especially in the area of church and parish center cleaning. We need YOU! Please email dflanigen@yahoo.com or call 467-8747. Enough volunteers will enable us to have rotating teams.
HAVE YOU SEEN OUR WEBSITE? Check it out at www.skt-lmc.org. Special thanks to Ben Anderson, Jason Herforth, and Jonathan Lane. Email address:

CASE TRAINING The Diocese of Rochester requires volunteers who work with children, youth or vulnerable adults to participate in Creating a Safe Environment (CASE) training. If you plan to volunteer for a ministry that involves working with children, youth or vulnerable adults, you will need to take the class on-line from your home computer or attend a training session. Please call or email Kathy Beauchamp at 484-1810 or email lmcommunity3@gmail.com for further instructions.
WHEN YOU COME TO CHURCH, please turn OFF all cell phones, hand-held electronic devices, pagers, watch alarms, etc. ALSO, remember to dress appropriately (neatly and modestly). Unfortunately, in many churches today, people tend to “dress down” for Mass. How can this be??? RESPECT and REVERENCE toward God and neighbor (i.e. charity) should determine how we present ourselves in the House of God. Thank you, in advance, for your courtesy and cooperation.
THE EUCHARISTIC ADORATION CHAPEL, adjacent to the Parish Center must continue to be a very important powerhouse of prayer for us and for people in our area. Hours of adoration are on Mondays through Fridays from 9 AM to 10 PM (11 PM on Tuesday and Friday). WE NEED MORE ADORERS TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY HOUR IS COVERED. Please consider signing up for an hour or being on the substitute list. See the posters at the church entrances. Contact Marie O’Leary at 467-1982.

CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL (CMA)—GREAT NEWS!
It is with great excitement and pride that I can announce that our St. Kateri Latin Mass Community here at St. Thomas Church has met and exceeded our 2015/2016 goal of $5,400! I am truly grateful to you for your generosity! However, while we have achieved our financial goal for the CMA campaign, our level of participation is only at about 15%. Therefore, there is still 85% of our registered individuals and families that have not yet contributed to this year’s campaign. As I stated in my initial letter to the Community, there is no set gift or pledge amount that you need to follow, as everyone has a different level of charity and sacrifice. That being said, it is important that we demonstrate that the SKT-LMC is truly grateful to Bishop Matano for his initial and ongoing support of us, and participating more widely in the CMA is one of the best ways we have to show him our appreciation.
And so, I ask that if you have not yet made a gift or pledge, please do so soon. There is no dollar amount too small—even a gift of $5, $10, or even $20 would be greatly appreciated, as a show of your support.
At the end of Mass today, please consider taking a pre-printed white donation envelope (found on the ushers’ tables at the doors). Ushers will be on hand to assist you. If you would like to make a donation before you leave the church, pencils will be available. You can leave your completed donation envelopes with the ushers, and your gifts will be forwarded to the Diocese.
Note: on the donation envelope, the parish name line should be filled in with “St. Kateri Latin Mass Community”, and the donor ID should be marked as “400”.
MANY, MANY THANKS!! GOD BLESS OUR COMMUNITY!!
HOLYDAY OF OBLIGATION – this week on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8
Latin Mass at 12 NOON
English Mass at 5:30 PM
NEXT SUNDAY is the mid-Advent Sunday called “Gaudete” (i.e. REJOICE IN THE LORD). TO signal the JOY of drawing closer to Christmas, the proper vestment color of the day shifts from purple to ROSE. On Gaudete Sunday this year, we will have a Choir Mass at 9 AM, and a High Mass at 11:15. Both Masses will be preceded by the classical Advent hymn, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel and followed by O Come Divine Messiah. Truly a joyful pre-Christmas celebration of CHRIST-centered HOPE!
COFFEE HOUR NEWS: Volunteers have stepped forward to host coffee hours for our Community on the FIRST and THIRD SUNDAYS of the month, after BOTH Masses! This is a very positive-development, giving us a chance to experience Christian hospitality and fellowship, thus building up our Community in Christ-centered charity. Thanks to all involved!
IN YOUR PRAYERS for the departed, please remember Eleanor Roney +, the mother of Community-member, Peter Luskey. Requiescat in pace.
EXTRAORDINARY YEAR OF MERCY OPENS
From December 8, 2015 to November 20, 2016, the Universal Church will observe a special “Year of Mercy,” focusing on the attribute of God—HIS DIVINE MERCY—which is exalted in both the Old and New Testaments. In announcing this Year, Our Holy Father Pope Francis wrote: “The Church makes herself a servant of this love of Christ and mediates it to all people; a love that forgives and expresses itself in the gift of oneself. Consequently, wherever the Church is present, the mercy of the Father must be evident.” Special events and devotional exercises will be held during this Year, including passing (walking) through the Holy Door of Mercy at diocesan cathedrals throughout the world, thus allowing the faithful to gain a Plenary Indulgence. At our Sacred Heart Cathedral, on Sunday December 13, 2015, at 2 PM, the solemn ceremony opening the Holy Door of Mercy will be presided over by Bishop Matano, followed by the celebration of Mass. All are invited to attend.
BISHOP SALVATORE MATANO WILL SPEAK AT THE MAGNIFICAT BREAKFAST FOR MEN AND WOMEN. Come and be inspired by our Bishop, sharing his journey of faith! Confessions will be heard at 8 a.m. and again at the end of the program.
